Gouverneur Healthcare Services Hosts “RED” Photographic Exhibit by Lia Chang As Part of Chinese New Year Celebration

Lower East Side, NY – Gouverneur Healthcare Services is pleased to announce that RED, photographs by Lia Chang, will be exhibited in its lobby as part of the Chinese New Year celebration.  Works included in this exhibit feature photographs of Chinese New Year celebrations in New York’s Chinatown. Ms. Chang will present her works and answer questions at the opening reception in Gouverneur’s Lobby from 1:30 – 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 5, 2009. Gouverneur Healthcare Services is located at 227 Madison Street in New York City.

 RED will be on display through February 20, 2009.

Ms. Chang is an actor, award-winning multi-media journalist and internationally published and exhibited photographer.  Lia Chang’s body of work includes her Notable Asian American Pioneer Portraits, Asian Pacific Americans in the Workforce and Portraits of New York Chinatown.  Her photographic style represents showing the “theater of life”, as well as “capturing the soul of her subject”.

 

RED is part of a series of art exhibitions in 2009 celebrating the 73rd anniversary of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation Art Collection.  These events showcase established and emerging artists and offer museums, galleries, educators and the general public the opportunity to become familiar with the HHC Art Collection.  This is part of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation’s philosophy of supporting the community it serves.
