2014 AUDELCO Nominations Announced; Ceremony at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space on November 17. New York Theatre Workshop’s production of Will Power’s Fetch Clay, Make Man is the leading contender with 11 AUDELCO nominations including Dramatic Production of the Year, Best Playwright (Will Power), Best Lead Actor (K. Todd Freeman), Best Lead Actor (Ray Fisher), Best Lead Actress (Nikki M. James), Best Director of a Dramatic Production (Des McAnuff), Best Supporting Actor (John Earl Jelks), Best Lighting Design (Howard Binkley), Best Set Design (Riccardo Hernandez), Best Costume Design (Paul Tazewell), and Best Sound Design (Darron L. West).

Lia Chang: Daniel Morgan Shelley to portray Nat Turner in Lucy Thurber’s The Insurgents at the Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF)

Daniel Morgan Shelley is rehearsing in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, for the world premier of Lucy Thurber’s The Insurgents, in which he portrays slave rebellion leader Nat Turner. Directed by Lear deBessonet, The Insurgents runs in repertory at the Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF) at Shepherd University, along with new plays by Kyle Bradstreet, David Mamet, Sam Shepard and Tracy Thorne. The four-week festival, consisting of 93 performances, will be held July 8 – 31, 2011.
