Last night, I saw an alumni night preview performance of Signature Theatre’s riveting revival of Edward Albee’s The Lady from Dubuque, directed by David Esbjornson, and featuring Tony Award winner Jane Alexander in the title role, with Catherine Curtin as Lucinda, Michael Hayden as Sam, Peter Francis James as Oscar, Tricia Paoluccio as Carol, Laila Robins as Jo, Thomas Jay Ryan as Edgar and C.J. Wilson as Fred. The production began preview perfomances on February 14, with a March 5 opening night, and runs through March 25, 2012 as the inaugural production in The End Stage Theatre at the Company’s dazzling new Frank Gehry-designed home The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between Dyer and 10th Avenues).
