Visual Communications (VC) the nation’s premier Asian Pacific American media arts center is presenting CELEBRATING BRUCE LEE: An Intimate Evening with Shannon Lee and Diana Lee Inosanto, at the Japanese American National Museum, on Sunday, November 15, 2015. This will be a Los Angeles celebration of Bruce Lee’s life, as he would have turned 75 years old on November 27.

The event will begin with a screening of IN HIS OWN WORDS followed by an intimate conversation with Bruce’s daughter Shannon Lee and god-daughter Diana Lee Inosanto as they reflect on Bruce’s impact in their own lives and his continuing legacy worldwide. After the conversation, the celebration continues with live performances, special guests, a silent auction with unique Bruce Lee items, delicious appetizers, bites, and beverages.

“My father loved to celebrate his birthday so I am happy to be able to be in celebration with Visual Communications to honor my father’s 75th,” says Shannon Lee, who runs the Bruce Lee Foundation and Bruce Lee Enterprise. “I look forward to a fun, intimate evening with my dear friend Diana Inosanto and all of you to talk about my father, his life and career, and celebrate!”

Diana Lee Inosanto, daughter of martial artist Dan Inosanto, states, “A Birthday Celebration?  For the Man who changed the world! And, I get to hang out with childhood JKD god-sister, Shannon!  Visual Communications, how awesome of you to put this celebration together.  Uncle Bruce loved people coming together!”

“We’re honored to work with Shannon to put together a celebration of an icon who not only impacted Asian Americans, but the world as a whole.” said Francis Cullado, Visual Communications’ Executive Director. “We see this event as a birthday party for Bruce and a space for fans and supporters to connect with each other.”

Proceeds from this event will go to support programs at Visual Communications, whose mission is to develop and support the voices of Asian American & Pacific Islander filmmakers and media artists.
