Sept. 22: Colman Domingo and Dan Butler Lead Cast of Staged Reading of Devin E. Haqq’s Screenplay, AMBITION’S DEBT at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music

Haqq, on Monday, September 22, 2014, at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Mary Flagler Cary Hall, 450 West 37th Street, NYC, at 7 P.M. Admission is free. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Click here to reserve seats.

AMBITION’S DEBT features Colman Domingo (Marcus Brutus), Dan Butler (Caius Cassius), Nathan Darrow (Marcus Antonius), Pernell Walker (Cinna), Carra Patterson (Calpurnia), Russell G. Jones (Trebonius), Larry Mitchell (Metellus Cimber),  Jamie Watkins (Strato), Kate MacCluggage (Portia), D. Rubin Green, Nicholas Gray, Rhett Henckel, and Devin E. Haqq.

AMBITION’S DEBT is set against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world, with the story following the downfall of Rome’s most honored citizen as he conspires to assassinate Julius Caesar, in order to forestall tyranny and preserve democracy. Adapted from William Shakespeare’s epic tale of honor, ambition, betrayal, hubris, and the supernatural.10430459_1454891211455514_6679250796572127598_n This presentation is the culmination of a developmental workshop for the project, which is currently scheduled to begin production in March of 2015.

Devin E. Haqq

Devin E. Haqq was the writer, director, producer and star of the feature film, THE ASSASSIN (2007), which is currently represented by the digital content agency Cinetic Rights Management and, in 2010, was distributed online through the broadband portal Babelgum. THE ASSASSIN was honored to be an official selection of the Nashville Film Festival, Urbanworld VIBE Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival, the Lake Placid Film Forum, as well as, the IFP-NY Rough Cut Lab. Devin also produced the award-winning feature film FRANCIS OF BROOKLYN (2012). In 2006, he produced the feature film ALYSSA & SARA. He is also the author of ADEPT VOL. 1 (1st Round Qualifier of the 2005 Project Greenlight Screenplay Contest) and co-author of THE BACCHAE (1st Round Qualifier of the 2007 Slamdance Horror Screenplay Competition).
