The first episode of ABC’s “Selfie,” starring Harold and Kumar’s John Cho and “Doctor Who’s” Karen Gillan, has been released online.
Created by “Suburgatory’s” Emily Kapnek,”Selfie” puts a social media spin on “My Fair Lady,” starring Gillan as Eliza Dooley, a self-obsessed social media addict with a big Internet following that aggressively tracks her posts and pictures; however, one day Eliza decides she needs help learning how to live offline. She enlists Cho’s Henry, a marketing expert, to help her rebuild her image. The cast also features David Harewood (“Homeland”), Tim Peper (“Conviction”), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Ghost the Musical) and Allyn Rachel (Million Dollar Arm).
Season 1 of “Selfie” premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
Check Out Selfie: Pilot on Hulu.
Cho has also appeared on the TV shows “Sleepy Hollow” and “FlashForward” and in the films Star Trek Into Darkness, Total Recall, Better Luck Tomorrow, and will next appear on the big screen in the upcoming Star Trek film.
