Kaoru Watanabe Taiko Center Winter Solstice Concert features Will Calhoun, Elaine Wang and Tamango on December 21 by Lia Chang

Fue and Taiko artist Kaoru Watanabe, formerly of KODO, opened the Kaoru Watanabe Taiko Center this Fall in the Prospect Heights section of Brooklyn. On December 21 at 4pm, Watanabe is celebrating the Winter solstice with a concert and recital to benefit the center. Kaoru will be experimenting with a new instrument created by glass sculptor Edison Orso.

Special guest performers include Will Calhoun, drummer for the legendary rock band Living Colour, and frequent collaborators master tap impresario Tamango and Elaine Wang of Lee & Wang Dance.
