Meet Tlingit artist Nicholas Galanin at the Alaska House, 109 Mercer St. in New York on Saturday, December 13 at 4pm, where he will discuss his development as an artist, a trajectory that includes a wide spectrum of contemporary art practices, from customary to Western. Galanin is a featured artist in the IDENTITY exhibition which addresses many of the issues faced by Alaska Native artists today, currently on view at Alaska House through January 31, 2009.
