Will Calhoun
I sat down at Masamoto restaurant in New York to share beef shabu shabu for two with Will Calhoun before his intimate Acoustronic performance duo with bassist and singer Francis Mbappe at Zinc Bar tonight.
Just back in town from his second recording session with LIVING COLOUR for their new album, “Chair in the Doorway”, he’s off to Germany in less than 24 hours for a lineup of gigs in Germany, Austria and Slovenia with David Gilmore’s UNIFIED PRESENCE,

David Gilmore
a jazz trio featuring Gilmore on guitar, legendary bassist Jamaaladeen Tacuma and Calhoun on drums, loops, percussion, through March 24. Shifting gears from jazz to rock, he’ll hook up with his Living Colour band members for several performances at festivals in Spain, from March 26-March 28. Recently, I’ve seen him perform with fue and taiko artist Kaoru Watanabe, tap impresario Tamango, his Native Lands Experience Band, Stanley Jordan and Charnette Moffett.

Jamaaladeen Tacuma
Delighted to be returning to Spain with LIVING COLOUR for the first time since 1995, Calhoun talked about his new album with LIVING COLOUR, due out later this year. He touched on what it’s like to work with different musicians in different genres, his evolution as an artist and what he’ll do in between gigs in Europe.
